"Mrs. Winifred Hamilton, a former Solomon resident, and wife of CW Hamilton, former editor of the Tribune passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center 10 May 1951. Mrs Hamilton, daughter of the late Thomas and Janne Riordan, was born at Solomon KS. She was a postmaster in Solomon before her marriage to CW Hamilton in 1922. Hamilton was then editor of the solomon Tribune, but later they sold the Tribune and became the owners of the Stockton Record. They made their home in Washington DC and Topeka while Hamilton served as secretary to Senator Frank Carlson while he was a member of congress and govenor of Kansas. they maintained their home in Stockton. Mrs. Hamilton is
survived by her husband, a stepson Leon Hamilton of tockton a sister Mrs. Madge Evanss of Kansas city and other relatives."
