John Berry was the 4th generation of Berry's to live in the town of Prescott, Hampshire, Massachusetts. He married Louisa Drury on 13 June 1861 in Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts and they had five children (four sons and a daughter). He was the largest man every to live in Prescott and weighed 354 pounds at one time. I can remember my Mom saying that people used to describe the size of things by saying that "it is big enough to fit John Berry."
Because of the way that Quabbin Park Cemetery was laid out in 1938, all of his children now rest in peace very closely to his burial marker and he lays close to his ancesters.
