In Memorial

On October, 24th, 1934, the the hospital at Blytheville, Ark., the white winged angel of death entered and claimed for its own the sweet spirit of our precious boy, Bertram, whose stay with us had been of such short duration, only three years and nine months. His life was like a sweet flower that soon passed away. But the loving memory still remains ever fresh in the minds of his loved ones.

A precious link was broken,
In our household band,
But another chain is forming
In a better land.

The days seem long and lonesome for daddy and he wonders if he will ever become accustomed to living without you. Mother misses your little arms about her neck when you woke each morning to kiss her and then ask "where is daddy?"

He was an affectionate child and loved to be called our baby.

We miss you at the close of each day when mother puts your little brothers and sisters to bed and you are not here. He has gone home to God where he has a grandfather and a grandmother and two uncles awaiting to welcome him on the other shore, and he will not be lonesome there. His little body was laid to rest at Macedonia, east of Houston, Mississippi, beneath a mound of beautiful flowers.

Sleep on dear baby,
And take they rest,
In Jesus's arms,
Forever blessed.

Goodbye, Bertram, daddy and mother will be on after a while.

Hamp and Leila Austin.
