Vestal was my dad's first cousin so that made him my cousin. When he was a young boy (maybe 9-10), he fell while playing and cut his knee. When it became infected, it eventually had to be amputated but it never seemed to affect what he did. He became an auto mechanic but the one thing that set him apart was his fantastic singing voice.
Vestal was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Leona Edmon. He was a nephew of Rev. Ada Mentora Caston-Slaton-Bonds.
He was survived by his wife, Jewell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Bud Noles, and Dianah and David Zehetner; sister Mrs. Martha Hunter; three grandsons; two granddaughters and four nieces.
