A memorial service was held May 29 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, Kentucky with Dennis Jones officiating. Burial was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Anglin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fletcher was born August 30, 1931 in Comanche, Texas, son of the late Ira and Nettie Acker Fletcher.
He was a retired CMSGT Air Force, having served 21 years during the Korean-Vietnam and Cold War eras. He served on Johnston Island Atoll with the nuclear missile program, and was the vice principal of Stewart County High School where he taught math for 25 years.
Mr. Fletcher was a member of the American Legion Post 104, Toccoa, Georgia, VFW Post 4346, Toccoa, Georgia, Air Force Sergeant Association, Nuclear Veterans Association, and the Stewart County Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Laverne Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife, Drucilla Tucker Fletcher; children, Charles Fletcher and wife Kathy, Georgetown, Texas, Michelle Barton, Hermitage, Tennessee, Mona Graham and husband Rick, Lansing, Kansas, Moira Wood and husband Bryant, Spring, Texas; stepdaughter, Meriam Tummons and husband Mark, Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee; brothers, Wilburn Fletcher and wife Collene, Bronte, Texas, George Fletcher and wife Jackie, Eastland, Texas; brother-in-law, William Tucker, Toccoa, Georgia; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
