Rickard Rickard Anthony Aquilini, age 60, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Monday, July 12, 2010, after battling pancreatic cancer. Rick had been a resident of Norcross, Georgia for more than 30 years. He grew up in Reading Pennsylvania where he attended Central Catholic High School and Penn State University where is majored in Mechanical Engineering. Rick began his career with Gilbert Associates, Inc., as a mechanical engineer. He finished off his corporate career after 17 years at ABB Impell Corporation where he provided management and engineering consulting services to the electric and nuclear power industries. Following his corporate career, Rick was a Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Bogey's Neighborhood Grill in Duluth, GA for 8 years. Since that time, he was actively involved in the Big Stakes Golf Match Play, LLC and provided management consulting in the areas of Strategic Planning, Operations and Marketing Solutions. Rick had a love for people and was a friend to many. He will be remembered by his family and special friends for his penchant to tell a good story and his desire and willingness to always lend a hand no matter the project. Rick was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marjorie Berger Aquilini and Anthony Emilio Aquilini; he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jeffry Milton Aquilini and Nancy Gauker Aquilini of Wyomissing Hills, PA; and his two nieces, Nicole Aquilini Gray of Lancaster, PA; and Tina Aquilini Forry of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on July 15th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the funeral home. A reception celebrating Rick's life will be held from 5:00-8:00 at Ippolito's Restaurant at 5277 Peachtree Parkway in Norcross for family and friends who would like to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rick's memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.crowellbrothers.com.
