KENT BOY, 16, FOUND DEAD

FREDERICK A. MURPHY, TERMED SUICIDE

An all-night search by his family ended early Sunday with the discovery of the body of FREDERICK A. MURPHY, 16, of 2083 Three Mile rd., NE, hanging from a tree limb about a mile south of his home. Dr. William H. VanderPloeg, medical examiner, termed the death a suicide but said no reason could be ascribed for the youth's action.

Sheriff's deputies said the youth's parents, Mr. and Mrs. EDWARD W. MURPHY, reported Frederick suffered severe headaches Saturday and slept most of the day. He left home about 6 p.m., saying nothing of his destination. The search was begun shortly after dark and his sister, MISS DELORES MURPHY, discovered the body about 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

The youth was a lifelong Kent county resident and a student at Creston High School.

Besides his parents and sister, he leaves four other sisters, MRS. CLARENCE MOYER, MRS. CALVIN MORRISON, MISS BETTY JEAN and MISS PATRICIA MURPHY; five brothers, CPL. ROBERT, with the army in Korea; CHARLES, RONALD, WILLIAM and HAROLD, and his grandmother, MRS. VERONICA BLAKESLEE, all of Grand Rapids.

The body is at the Van Strien-Alman mortuary.
