Bounty Land application letter said he entered service at Lumberland Sullivan Co NY; exited at Staten Island; "aged 67 years on the 11th day of June;" a resident of Thompson Sullivan Co NY dated Apr 22 1850.

By Major General Dearborn Commaning 3rd US Military District Be it Known that Edw Carpenter a private in Capt Wadsworth Co of the 2nd regiment of US volunteers is hereby discharged from the service of the US having faithfully served the time of his engagement under the act of Congress passed sixth day of Feb 1812 and as a public testimonial of his zeal he is presented with his arms and accoutrements agreeably to said act. Edw Carpenter has received his pay clothing and subsistence at the date of this discharge Given at Head Quarters in the City of NY the 5th day of Nov 1813
