Daniel was married to Alberta Mary Carman in Moosomin, Saskatchewan in the early 1880's. The couple had 5 children:
Marrett (b 1887), Edward (b 1888), Marius (b 1890-1893) Henry(b 1892), and Constance May (b1894).
Constance was born in Los Angeles, where her parents were visiting at the time. Her mother Alberta, died in childbirth, and Constance was raises and educated in the US with friends.
Daniel married a second time to Mary Ellis in England.
Daniel and son Harry moved to Strathmore in the early 1900's, founding Eastlake Dairy. Constance, who went by May, completed her teachers training in Washington and then joined her father in 1918. She married William Risdon in 1919. Harry married Rita Brown in 1920.
