Obituary in THE STATE, Columbia, SC, 30 Dec 2008: Lexington - Services for Sue Brickle Hunter, 80, of Lexington, will be held at noon today, Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street. Officiating will be Dr. Richard Belcher. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends starting at 11 a.m. until noon. Memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church, 3535 Delree St., West Columbia, SC 29170. Mrs. Hunter, widow of G. Wilson Hunter, died Sunday, December 28, 2008. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Olin Brickle and Coriene Fogle Brickle. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, and a graduate of USC. Mrs. Hunter taught high school English in North for two years before she married. Susie desired above all else to glorify the Lord with her life. She was an encourager and wonderful sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She depended on the Lord and rested in His all-sufficiency through many decades, and we know that she is rejoicing to finally be home. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Kenneth Jefferson of Columbia; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sandra Hunter of Chapin, Tim and Stacey Hunter of Lexington; five grandchildren, Julie and John Jefferson, Jason and Jill Hunter, and Wilson Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her one brother, Coy Brickle, and one sister, Inez Brickle Poag. www.thompsonsfuneral.com.
