Severn, Mary Lucinda Burrell - Mary Lucinda Burrell, daughter of Lurita and Washington Burrell, was born June 25, 1869, in Taylor county, Iowa. She departed this life Sept. 25, 1934, aged 65 years, 3 months.
She was married to Francis M Severn February 14, 1884 and to them were born five children. With the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska, Mrs Severn spent her entire life in Taylor county. At an early age she joined the Blue Grove Christian church of which she remained a member until her death.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Will and Alpha Severn and Mayme Kilby, all of Lenox; 18 grandchildren, one sister, Dora Schmitt of Des Moines, and one brother, Fred Burrell of Fraser, Colo.. One daughter died in infancy and one son, Elmer, passed away in 1916 at the age of 31 years.
Mrs Severn was a kind and loving wife and mother and was a thoughtful friend and neighbor and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 27 at the Church of Christ and were conducted by Rev. L. V. Freeman of Guthrie Center a former Lenox pastor. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery.
