Bessie Clarice Farthing, 83, widow of Howard Farthing, Sr., passed away July 14, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Farthing was born in Owsley County on March 28, 1927 to the late Green and Drury Rowland Yarber. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her survivors include five sons; Danny Farthing ( Wanda), Ronnie Farthing (Jennifer), Greg Farthing ( Karen), Randy Farthing (Sue), Ricky Farthing (Krista), three daughters; Judy Abner, Vickie Harney (Sam), Darlene Carpenter (Gudgell), two daughters-in-law; Margie Farthing, Mary Farthing, one brother; Jesse Yarber, two sisters; Ann Blanton, Geneva Harvey, 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Four sons preceded her in death: Carlos, Billy Wayne, Gary and Howard Farthing.
Funeral services at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens.
