Son of Hansford Newton & Mary Cathrine (Weems) Sanders. Husband of Mary Maude (Hopkins) Sanders.

According to the Sevier County Family History Book, pub. 1994, Will was born at Atwood, on the east side of the Saline River. Atwood is in Howard Co, Arkansas.

He died in Murfreesboro, Pike Co, Arkansas. The book says "On Monday, February 23, Will was riding the log train into Murfreesboro and the train wrecked. He was taken to the hotel in Murfreesboro and was operated on by his brother-in-law, Dr. Jesse Hopkins. He died of his injuries February 26, 1914. They carried him across the street to bury him in the Murfreesboro Cemetery."
