Myrtle Kinsland McCracken -- Asheville Citizen-Times
Waynesville - Myrtle Kinsland McCracken, 91, formerly of Welch Street, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Luther Kinsland Sr. and her second husband, Glenn Silas McCracken. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Luther Kinsland Jr., who had resided in Ocala, Fla., and by a daughter, Barbara Kinsland Narron, who had resided in Newport News, Va.
She was a former employee of the Welco Corporation and was a retired employee of Champion International. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville and was active in the Senior Citizens Group at the Waynesville Towers. She had participated in numerous activities at the Brian Center, where she had resided for the past seven years.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy K. Milling and her husband, Dr. James R. Milling, of Waynesville, and Margaret Garrett of Waynesville; a daughter-in-law, Nan Kinsland of Ocala; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Presnell will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Dr. and Mrs. James Milling, 80 Ninevah Road, Waynesville.
Memorials may be made to the Activities Fund of the Brian Center, c/o John Parris, 516 Wall St., Waynesville, NC 28786.
