Funeral Services for Louise Sackett, 88, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney J. Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
Sarah Louise Pearson Sackett passed away on July 13 at the age of 88 after a brief illiness. She was born in Gordo, Alabama, on June 19, 1922, daughter of Robert Colin and Emma Magnolia Pearson. Her husband, Richard Sackett preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Touzet and her husband, Jeff of Monroe, LA and her son, Steve Sackett and his wife, Lana of Kenner, LA; grandchildren, Scott Touzet and his wife, Rachel of Pensacola, FL and Stacey Bradford, Corey Sackett, Julie Allen and husband, Robbie, of Kenner, LA; great grandchildren, Sarah, Holden, Irie, Raeliana, Daniel Touzet of Pensacola, and Andrew Bradford of Kenner; brother-in-law, Raymond Sackett and wife, Kathryn of Mobile, AL; nephews, Bobby Crocker and wife, Mary Francis of Starkville, MS, Vic and Liz White of Downsville, LA, Victor Sackett and his wife, Terrie of PA; and nieces, Vicki Carpenter and husband, David and Susan Sackett, all of Mobile, AL.
Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana and homemaker. She travelled throughout the United States and Canada while her husband was employed with Ford, Bacon, & Davis Construction Corporation, making friends wherever she went. Music and singing were always a part of her life, and in her later years she developed a passion for fishing and bird watching. Her love, gentle spirit, and wisdom have touched the lives of many around her.
Pallbearers will be Corey Sackett, Scott Touzet, Robbie Allen, Mike Downey, Jeff Touzet, and Nicholas White.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, July 16, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
Special appreciation is expressed to Dr. Krier and staff on 2nd floor at St. Joe's, the sitters from Guardians for Angels and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care
