BEDFORD -- Edwin Davis Jr., 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.
Memorial Serivce: 3 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Garden Chapel.
Edwin was born April 2, 1919, in Fort Worth, the son of Edwin and Jennie D. Davis. He graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in electrical engineering in 1940.
Edwin was a navigator-bombardier with the 5th Air Force engaged in 57 combat missions in the Southwest Pacific during World War II. Dr. Davis graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in 1950 and practiced surgical medicine until he retired to Fairfield Glade, Tenn., in 1995.
Edwin was an amateur radio operator, a pilot and an avid golfer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Martha Martin Davis; sister, Mary Ellen McKean; son, Marty Davis and wife, Debbie; daughter, Sharon Davis Rogan and husband, John; granddaughter, Keegan Rogan; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
