Dora was one of my maternal great-aunts. I never had the chance to meet her but my mom loved her very much. My mom's cousin told me that all the kids used to call my grandma Mrs. Dora because aunt Dora also had the last name of Batzka. So there were two Dora Batzkas in the family.

Miss Dora G. Batzka, 69, of LaCrosse, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, September 19, in her home after an illness of four years. She was born March 28, 1902 in San Pierre and had lived in La Crosse for 12 years. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of the United Methodist church in LaCrosse, the Royal Neighbor's Lodge of San Pierre and the Rebecca Lodge of North Judson.
She is survived by two sisters; Mrs. Bernard (Ruth) Douglas of LaCrosse and Mrs. John (Lillian) Hamay of Phoenix, AZ.; three brothers; Walter of Wanatah, Arthur of Monticello and Fred of San Pierre.
