Daughter of the late Daniel Ernest and Lizzie Jane Elvis Carroll, she was a member of the Johnsonville Church of God. She was survived by her husband, Francis M. Hamilton; two sons, Robert Hamilton (Linda) and Ernest M. Hamilton; five daughters, Kathy Martin (Adam), Fran Langston (J.C.), Kathryn Phillips (George), Lynn Brooks (Leon) and Patsy A. Hernandez; one brothers, Daniel Ernest Carroll, Jr.; four sisters, Madeline Rowe, Vera Keenum, Frankie Ammons an Geneva Wright; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Mandy Hamilton. Her funeral was held on Janaury 25, 2004, with The Rev. Donald Deal, The Rev. Eddie Altman and The Rev. Billy Carroll officiating.
