Mr. Joseph G. Mettert died Sunday after a long and painful illness, at his residence, No. 2229 Venable street.
Mr. Mettert was a highly respected citizen, and all his life resided in the vicinity in which he died. He was a member of Trinity Methodist church and bore his sufferings with Christian resignation. He leaves a wife and five children - three sons and two daughters.
The funeral will take place from Trinity Methodist church at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The interment will be at Shockoe cemetery.
