Sampson's first marriage was to Bertha Watson on June 19, 1909. They had twin daughters born 12-22-1911. One was stillborn and not named. The other, Lovie Meredith, lived for 9 days and died 12-31-11 in Grayson County, Kentucky.
NOTE: In 2011 it was learned that Bertha and Sampson had two other children. Lillie and John. It is uncertain to their exact dates of birth. It has been confirmed that they were sent to an orphanage in Kentucky after being taken from Bertha in the early 1900's. Sampson's where abouts at that time is unknown. However, there was another younger half-brother, Robert Carroll, taken from Bertha at the same time.
Sampson Meredith and Lucille Stinnett were married December 11, 1916 in Grayson County, Kentucky.
Shortly after they moved to Auburn, Illinois. In the mid-1930's they moved to Michigan. They lived there until their deaths.
To this union was born 4 children.

Sampson died 1-5-1962 in Michigan. He is buried along side Lucille in the Howard Cemetery, Ingham Township, Ingham County, Michigan. Their daughter Flossie West is buried there also.
