She was born November 2, 1917 in Nicholas Co. to the late Tommie J. & Ethel Crump Flora, was educated in the Nicholas Co. Schools, was a former nurses aide at Rosemont Manor Nursing Home in Fayette Co., was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church in Nicholas Co. and the First Baptist Radio Congregation in Paris.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Julian Berry Shields, a son, Don (Carolyn) Shields, Paris, a brother, Rev. Issac (Faye) Flora, Xenia, Ohio, a sister, Millie (Ben) Hajek, Ft. Collins, Colorado, 3 grandchildren, Debbie (Tom) Hamm, Nicholas Co., Dawn (Frank) Glowatz, Georgetown, Rebecca Short, Paris, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, a grandson and a great-grandson.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Rev. Don Reed. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
