Funeral services for Mrs. Skittie M. Umfress were held Nov. 21, 1971 from the Harden's Chapel Methodist Church. She was 91. Mrs. Umfress, widow of the late Henry Umfress who died 14 years ago to the day, died at her home in the Clay Community on Nov. 20 after an illness of several weeks. Burial was in the family plot in the Harden's Chapel Cemetery with Senter Funeral Home of Fulton in charge. She was a daughter of the late Richard Ivy Harden. Her mother was the late Nancy Lilly Blaylock Harden.

Survivors included a son, Victor Umfress of Fulton; and five daughters, Mrs. Janetta Spencer, Mrs. Floyd Smith, Mrs. Nancy Lillie Tittle, and Mrs. Ravnell Palmer, all of Fulton, and Mrs. Lema Gregory of Dorsey; one sister, Mrs. Ivy Lee Wheeler of Fulton; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
