For Charles Phillips
Funeral services for Charles
Phillips, 74, native of Yale and
formerly of Shabbona, were held
Monday at 3 p. m. in the Methodist
Church here. Rev. F. W. Porter
officiated and burial was
made in Elkland Cemetery. Mr.
Phillips, who bought a home at
Kissimmee, Fla., two years ago,
died at Winter Gardens, Fla.,
Thursday after an illness of two
weeks.
Since living in Shabbona, Mr.
Phillips had made his home in
Minnesota and Detroit. He married
Miss Ida Agar, who died in
1916. In 1925 he married Mrs.
Cora Agar (widow of Thos Agar),
who survives. He is also survived
by four children, Mrs. Walter Arnold
of Marysville, Hugh Phillips and
Gene Phillips Cooper, both of Detroit
and Mrs. Ray Voorhies of
Chicago, Ill a sister, Mrs. Delia
Smith of Decker, and two brothers,
Carl of Grand Rapids, Minn., and
Clifford of Norge, Va. Mr. Phillips
was an uncle of Mrs. Avon Boag.
