Mrs. Nettles was born April 5, 1921, in Waycross, GA, a daughter of Grover G. Jordan and Tina Smith Jordan. She attended Ware Co., GA, schools. She was a member of Pittman Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Harry W. Nettles of Ladson, SC, Doc Nettles of Summerville, SC, and Kenny Nettles of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Grover C. Jordan and Richard A Tindall, both of N. Charleston, SC; three sisters, Geneva Quinn of Savannah, GA, Mary Beverly of N. Charleston, SC, and Ruby Ann Cooner of Morrow, GA; and six grandchildren.
