Poetess. She was a member of the "Generation of 45" with poets as Idea Villarino, Juan Carlos Onetti and Mario Benedetti. She also was named Honorary Member of the National Academy of Letters of Uruguay (2006). Throughout his career he received several awards for his work and the April 13, 2010 was declared Honorary Citizen of Montevideo. She wrote over 20 books including: "Through the times that lead to great calm" (1940), "Elegy for the death of Paul Valéry (1945)," Contracanto "(1961)," Composition of place (1976) and "The Lady of Elche" (1987).
