Daniel S. Hostetter, 87, of Lancaster and formerly of Millersville, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Mennonite Home. Born January 20, 1923 in Manor Twp., he was a son of the late David Charles and Elizabeth R. (Shuman) Hostetter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda R. (Nissley) Hostetter, on June 1, 2010.

Mr. Hostetter was a longtime member of Millersville Mennonite Church. He held a variety of jobs during his lifetime, including working at the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, driving feed truck, and many years at Millersville University. With his wife, he volunteered at the Re-Uz It shop and ran a produce stand in Millersville. He was an accomplished gardener. Daniel enjoyed meeting people and greeting them by name.

Mr. Hostetter is survived by two daughters: Naomi, wife of Ed Sensenig of Lititz and Mary Ann, wife of Kirk Shisler of Harrisonburg, VA; three sons: Elvin, husband of Sharon Hostetter of Maytown, Bob, husband of Sally Hostetter of Millersville, and Arthur N., husband of Heather Hostetter of Lititz; his brother: David Hostetter of Ephrata; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Hostetter. Daniel will be remembered as a devoted husband and father.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Oreville Chapel, Mennonite Home Communities, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, with Dennis Ernest, Abe Charles and Dr. Delbert Kautz officiating. Viewings will be Friday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., all from the Oreville Chapel at the Mennonite Home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Water Street Ministries, 210 South Prince St., P.O.
