Born May 25, 1889, in Shelby County, the son of William T. and Syrena(Taylor)McCarty, he was married to Delphia Skinner on Feb. 21, 1909, and she died, Nov. 22, 1955.
He was married Aug. 31, 1958, to Rev. Betty Thompson, who died in November, 1964. On Nov. 2, 1966, he married Commelia Huff who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sherman(Pauline)Foster, R.R. 1, and Mrs. Paul(Maxine)Stader, R.R. 6, Shelbyville; two sons, Albert McCarty, Carlsbad, N.M., and Harry McCarty, Bethesda, O., and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul(Laura)Bowles, Louisville, Ky.
Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Joseph(Martha)Shields, Palo Verdes, Calif.; three brothers, Lawrence and Dallas McCarty, Shelbyville and Millard McCarty, Los Angeles, eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A son and daughter preceded in death.
Rev. McCarty, who lived most of his life in Shelby County, served as a Pentecostal Church minister in Greensburg, Medora and Vevay.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sleeth Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Kress officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
