SAMUEL, only known child of Atherton & Elizabeth (Bulkeley) (Whittingham), was born about 1620 (deposed about 1639 aged 19; baptized at Boston 12 October 1644. He married by 1650 Sarah Symmes, daughter of Reverend Zachariah Symmes (eldest child b. Reading 30 April 1650; John Brock m. "widow Sarah Haugh" at Reading on 13 November 1662, in his will of 20 January 1664/5 Rev. Zechariah Symmes bequeathed to "my daughter Brock," and in her will of 1676 his widow Sarah bequeathed to "my son John Broke and to his wife."
