In 1937 Nina moved to Ottawa with her family. She met Carl Snyder, the love of her life, and they married June 17, 1942 in Riverside, California. She remained with Carl while he served in the Army during WWII until he was sent overseas. She was a homemaker until they became owners of Snyder Pharmacy in 1958 which they operated for thirteen years. Carl and Nina shared more than 58 years of married life together. Nina moved to Fresno, California in 2004 where she resided with her daughter and family. Nina enjoyed traveling, dancing, listening to Carl play his clarinet in the various bands he played with over the years and being with family and friends.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George, Robert, Donald and her husband. She is survived by her daughter Karen Sue Yates and her husband David of Nipomo, granddaughter Jaima Yates of Burbank, California, Sister-in-law Betty Barnes, two nephews Larry and Doug Barnes and two nieces Linda Ferris and Judy Parker. She will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Highland Cemetery. Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
