Obituary from THE HORRY HERALD, June 1910.

Mrs. (Celia Caroline Johnson) G. Edwards was born Nov. 23, 1854 & after a long illness departed this life May 30, 1910. At age 13 she was converted & connected herself with the Methodist Church & lived a consistent member until her death. At age 19 she was happily married to Gabriel Edwards & to this union was born 9 children, two of which preceded her to the grave. She was a loving & devoted wife & a kind affectionate mother. She was a good neighbor & never spoke evil of anyone & reproved those who did. She was ready at all times to endorse that which was good & right. She cultivated for herself a character that the hand of time can never remove. On the following day the remains were taken to Zion Methodist Church (now Zion Cemetery) where the funeral was preached by the Rev. J. W. Bailey & her body laid to rest to await the ressurection. In her death the husband has lost a kind & faithful wife, the children a loving mother & the church a true & devoted member.
