Viola, Wis. - Mrs. Etta A. Kinder, 85, wife of the late Charles Kinder, died at her home in Viola Saturday morning.
Born Etta Gibbs at Hebron in Jefferson County, Wis., on Oct. 4, 1866, she moved with her parents to a farm near Boscobel when she was 4. She married Charles Kinder in 1891 and in 1895 the couple moved to Viola and entered the hardware business.
She was a member of the Viola Evangelical United Brethren Church and was active in several church organizations. She was a member of the Viola Rebekah Lodge for 49 years, the Order of Eastern Star for 32 years and the Justin Dake Relief Corps since 1935.
Mrs. Kinder is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Ross (Stella) Bender, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Viola Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Rev. Edward A. Zager officiating, assisted by Dr. George H. McAhren. Burial was in the Viola Cemetery.
