"DEATH CLAIMS ANOTHER OLD PIONEERS OF CO. Mrs. Salomon Had Been Resident Here Since 1853 Mrs. Fredericka Salomon, widow of Herman Salomon and one of the pioneer settlers of Manitowoc county and a sister-in-law of Edward Salomon, one time governor of Wisconsin, died at her home on South Eighth Street Saturday. Death was due to
Bright's disease from which she had
been a sufferer for a long time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock on Thursday afternoon from the home. The Rev. E. R. E. Schreiber to officiate. Burial at Evergreen. Mrs. Salomon, who was a native of Plan, Mecklenburg, Schwerin Germany was 75 years of age, having been born March 13, 1848. She came to America with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Vetting in 1853 and the family settled in the town of Newton. Married, May 8, 1872, Mrs. Salomon was widowed forty-two years ago when her husband, who was a civil war veteran, passed away. She leaves four children to mourn the loss of a loving mother, being Doris, Clara, Serena and Edward and one sister Mrs. John Herzog, this city and two brothers, Albert Vetting, this city, and Louis, of Idaho also survive. The latter will arrive here for the funeral. Mrs. Salomon was a charter member of the German M. E. church in this city and had always taken an active interest in affairs of the organization and up to her failing health was active in the work of the church. She was a lover of Nature and essentially a home woman, bound up in the love of her family in which she will be greatly missed."
