JOHN, 1st known child of Rev. Francis & Anne (Herbert) Higginson, was baptized at Claybrooke, Leicestershire, 31 August 1616. He married (1) by 1646 Sarah Whitfield, daughter of Rev. Henry and Dorothy (Sheafe) Whitfield. He married (2) after 1676 Mary (Blakeman) Atwater, daughter of Rev. Adam and Jane (_____) Blakeman and widow of Joshua Atwater.
