Civil War Union Soldier. Served as a Private in Company D, 13th Vermont Volunteer Infantry from his enlistment on July 20, 1861 until his death.Born in Quebec, Canada he went down to Vermont and enlisted in the Union cause. He was mortally wounded on July 3, 1863 during his brigade's participation in the repulse of the celebrated Pickett's Charge. Taken to the Field Hospital of the XI Corps, he died only hours after his wounding. He was then interred in G. Spangler's Farm before being moved to the National Cemetery. He was 18 years old, a Canadian amoung all the Yankees who gave their Last Full Measure of Devotion.
