Lydia Eleanor Gilbert was the daughter of Franklin Gilbert 1817 - 1879 and Elizabeth F. Morse 1814 - 1881. She married John C. Dalrymple in 1859, when he passed she married Moses Bennett the 1 Nov 1874 in Evergreen, Montcalm Co., Michigan.

John C. and Lydia had the following children:

Charles Archibald - 1865
Nettie - 1868
Leanna (Lannah)Dalrymple - 1869 - 1881

Mrs. Lydie E, Bennett died at the home of her son, Frank Dalrymple, on the bluff, of heart trouble, only being ill a few hours. She was 68 years of age and leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn her. Mrs. Bennett has been a resident of Harbor Spring for the past thirteen years. She was a devout Christian lady and had a large circle of friends. The funeral will take place from the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. A. R. Hicks, of the Baptist church, officiating.
