Eleanor Oakley Hittle, 90, of Andalusia, IL, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 in her home.
She was born October 2, 1919 in Toledo, IL, the daughter of John & Ida Grisamore Swickard. During her career, Eleanor was the co-owner of restaurants in Macon and Decatur, IL, the Administrator of a nursing home in Colfax, IL and a campground with RV sales in Monticello, IL. Upon retirement, Eleanor and her husband Bill moved to Florida, built a home on a canal leading to the Gulf where they enjoyed fishing daily and traveling. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Homasossa, Florida and attended Community Christian Church in Moline, IL.
Eleanor married Carl Oakley, she later married Bill Hittle.
She is survived by her daughter: Arlene McGrath, Andalusia, IL; daughter-in-law: Rena' Oakley, Pana, IL; 3 grandchildren: Karen Bragg & husband Harry, Maroa, IL; Jim Oakley & wife Deb, Pana, IL; Farrell Oakley, Pana; IL; 2 step grandchildren: Bob Brown, Oldsmar, FL; Don Eggerman, Shelbyville, IL; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Ted C Oakley June 18, 2004, two husbands, parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
