Author. She created the "Betsy-Tacy" books, which chronicled the lives of friends 'Betsy Ray' and 'Tacy Kelly' in a series of ten books that traced their lives from 1897 to 1917. The books were published from 1941 to 1955, and each one progressed in a higher reading level than the previous edition.
