He married Minnie Jo Yarbrough of Pilot Point, TX Feb. 14, 1951. Truman served four years in the U.S. Army and retired from General Telephone Co. after 39 years. He made his home in Irving, TX where he lived for 49 years before moving to Keller in 2001. He was a faithful member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Keller, TX.
Truman loved his family and friends and his Lord and Savior Jesus with all his heart. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and most importantly a dedicated Christian. He left a legacy of love for all who knew him and will never be forgotten.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Opal Secrest, his son, Les, his sister Naomi Wilson, and his brother Mansel Secrest.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Secrest, four children and their spouses, Bobby and Shirley Stokes of Coppell, Roy and Linda Starnes of Keller, Sam and Beverly Walker of Lumberton, and Eddy and Sonja Secrest of Flint; grandchildren, Jeremy and Ashley Starnes, Justin and Leslie Henderson, Amy Starnes, Brent and Staci Weir, Jason and Tiffany Stokes, Nathan Walker, Dusty and Shelby Cannon, Josh and Laura Trevino, Alicia Secrest, A.J. Secrest and Kaley Starnes; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kenzie, Savannah, Tylee, Braden, Avery, Ty and Brinley; siblings, Merle and Betty Secrest, Jimmy and Neva Secrest, Mack Secrest, R.E. and Janie Niell, Georgia Yarbrough, and Carol Hickman and numerous nieces and nephews.
