FINAL RITES HELD FOR FOY BROWN,71...WORLD WAR I VETERAN

Final rites were held Tuesday afternoon from the Wherry Chapel here for Foy Brown, 72, who passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Lincoln on Sunday.

A World War I veteran, the American Legion Post participated in the last rites at the Table Rock cemetery. The deceased was born in Table Rock and spent his entire life here except for the time spent in the Army. He served as mail messenger between the post office and depot for several years.

Funeral services were in charge of Rev. Ward Merritt of Humboldt. Mrs. Leslie Phillips was soloist, accompanied by Miss Mary Hunley as pianist.

Pallbearers were Ed Flider, Joe Tomek, Ed Tomek, Harland Findlay, L. J. Wenzbauer and Lyle Sturgeon, all members of the American Legion Post of which Mr. Brown was a member.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, four daughters, and many other relatives.

OBITUARY-

Foy Brown was born in Table Rock, Nebraska on October 8, 1898, to Elmer S. Brown and Alta Lenora Myers Brown. Most of his life was spent in Table Rock except for the time spent in the U. S. Army during World War I.

He was a member of the American Legion Post of Table Rock.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Lee, and his mother and father.

He leaves his wife, Jane Brown of Auburn, Nebr.; two sons: Donald R. Brown of Pawnee City and Loren H. Brown of Boise, Idaho; four daughters: Dorothy Morton of Auburn, Nebr., Mrs. Cecil Bacon of Auburn, Mrs. Larry McMann of Brownsville, Nebr., and Mrs. Martin Boden of Nemaha, Nebr.; 18 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
