Table Rock Argus, Feb. 28, 1930.

Myrle Inez McCourtney, the first child of Charles and Clara McCourtney, was born near Lebanon, Smith county, Kansas, on January 16, 1893. She had one brother and three sisters, who survive. The family left Kansas in early days and came to Nebraska. They moved to Minnesota, but came back to Nebraska and located in Table Rock. The mother died while the children were small. Mr. McCourtney married again, and to this union were born three sons and three daughters. All attended the Table Rock schools. William Horace Craig, known as "Hod", attended the schools in Table Rock at the same time. He and Myrle Inez loved each other and were married in the W. E. Craig home on November 9, 1911. To this union were born four boys, Willard, now aged 17, Boyd, nearly 15, Harold 13, Ronald 8; two girls, Helen Lu, who preceded her mother in death in 1929, and Mary, who will be two years old next April.

This family has lived in or near Table Rock since marriage with the exception of the past year, when the general health of the family prompted a move to Laramie, Wyoming. The climate or altitude or both did not agree with Willard. Recently the family returned to Table Rock, and on February 24, 1930, at 12:50 p.m., the same house in which she was married, Myrle Inez McCourtney Craig's spirit left its earthly temple of clay and returned to God from whence it came. The mother love and influence have been for good.

Her relatives, friends and above all her children can always remember her as one whose children were being directed to Christ. She was released from her earthly burdens at the early age of 37 years, and although the children are young, they are left with a hard-working father, who will care for them, with the assistance of loving grandparents, and a host of other relatives and friends.
