RUBY HANCOCK
Age 91, of Valparaiso, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. Ruby was born on June 10, 1919 to William and Lizzie Hooten in Karbers Ridge, Illinois. She was an area resident for over 60 years. Ruby was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and a wonderful homemaker and will be missed by those who knew her. Ruby is survived by her son, Don (Carol) Hancock and daughter, Levetta (Rodd) Noel all of Union Township; grandchildren, Rodney (Susan) Noel of Winamac, Kriss (Angie) Noel of Valparaiso, Joshua (Bianca) Noel of Union Township; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Adam, Nick, Jonah, Rachel, Jacob Noel; sister, Nina Mick of Carbondale, IL and brother, Randall Hooten of Bourbonnais, IL; other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents, William and Lizzie [(Turner) Hooten]; 7 brothers and sisters. A funeral service for Ruby will be Monday, July 12, 2010 at l:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Visitation will be from 1l:00 a.m. - l:00 p.m. just prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart.
