Mrs. Donnie Sherrill
May 4, 1916 - February 13, 2012
Donnie (McElroy) Sherrill, age 95, of Snowball, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Bristol Pointe Health and Rehab in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born at Silver Hill, Arkansas on May 04, 1916 to Elliot M. and Josie Ann (Tyler) McElroy.
Donnie was known around Snowball for many years as "Aunt Donnie", where she was a lifetime resident, a place she loved very much. The last year and half, her home has been Bristol Pointe Health and Rehab in Harrison, where all who cared for her knew her as "Miss Donnie". Donnie was a charter member of the Snowball Baptist Church for close to 60 years, where she enjoyed playing the piano for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Sherrill; one infant son, James B. Sherrill; several brothers, John, Elliot, James, Calvin, Murphy, her twin Lonnie, Leonard, and Lafayette; and two sisters, Hettie Burns and Nettie Casey.
Survivors include two sons, William D. Sherrill and Harold B. Sherrill, both of Harrison; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Services for Donnie will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Glen Griffin officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the Chapel. Burial will be in McMahan Cemetery near Snowball, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Tony Sherrill, Tim Sherrill, Greg Boren, Todd Hawkins, Zach Hawkins and Tyler Sherrill. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews and the employees of "B" Hall at Bristol Pointe Health and Rehab Center.
