Mary Hammons Roberson, 90, of Benton, KY, passed away July 24, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, from the chapel of Collier Funeral Home of Benton, KY. The Rev. George Snow and the Rev. John Bedwell will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Crossville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberson was a former LPN at Cumberland Medical Center and a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Nelda Faye (Roberson) Colson of Benton, KY and Carol Alpers of Stover, MO; sons, James Roberson of Chattanooga, Gerald Roberson of Shaker Heights, OH, Alfred Roberson of Knoxville and Paul Roberson of Paducah, KY; brothers, Troy Hammons of Crossville and Albert Hammons of Dayton, TN: sisters, Edna Randolph of Peoria, IL and Margaret Roberts of Smyrna, GA; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Oella (Matheney) Hammons; son, Kenneth Roberson; brothers, Ernest Hammons, Tim Hammons and Beecher Hammons; and sister, Elevena Ashburn.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marshall County Hospital, 503 George McClain Dr., Benton, KY 42025.
