Eldean grew up in the Bladen community and graduated from the Bladen High School with the Class of 1936. On July 12, 1940 she was united in marriage with Ronald Clarence Mortensen at Pueblo, Colorado. Eldean was employed for a number of years as a psychiatric aide with the Hastings Regional Center. Following a move to Colorado, she continued to work as an aide at the Colorado State Hospital at Pueblo for ten years. They later returned to the Hastings community where she was employed with the Division of Rehabilitation Service for thirteen years, when she retired.
In their younger years, Eldean and Ron traveling together. They also fishing. As a resident of the Village, she was actively involved as a volunteer at the Towers and greatly enjoyed the company of her many friends. She always looked forward to a game of cards.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on July 27, 2002; son, Kelly; and a brother, Gerald "Buck" Kral.
Surviving are a sister, Norma Gotheridge of Hastings, Nebraska; a brother, Don Kral and wife Letha of Bladen, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Ruth Kral of Hastings, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She touched lives of so many with her kind and caring heart and her smile.
