Patricia Bates Rawls, age 59, a native of Albany, LA, Pat passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010. She retired from Albany High School after 20 years of dedicated teaching and spent her final years in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Pat leaves behind her husband, Raymond Rawls; children, Julie Hollenbaugh and husband Todd, Becky Friedman and husband Patrick, Bennette Rawls and wife Deanna; grandchildren, Alayna and Kennedy Rawls, Emily and Andrew Friedman, Emma and Lydia Hollenbaugh. She is also survived by three siblings, Judy Fournier, Robert Bates, and Steve Bates.

Preceding Pat in death were her parents, Steve and Julia Bates, and siblings, James Bates, Billy Bates, Janet Casanova and Paul "Cookie" Bates.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, from 8:00 a.m., until the funeral service time. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ben Booth, assisted by Rev. Joe Dunn, and interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
