Lewis S. Stoltz, Jr., 81, Claremont, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at his residence.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Star of Hope Chapel in Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont with Minister Ben Woollard officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park with full military rites performed by Olney veterans.

Mr. Stoltz was born May 29, 1927, the son of Lewis Sr. and Minta (Rigall) Stoltz. He married Ida Marlene Lydle on July 29, 1953, and she survives.

He was retired from General Telephone as a lineman and attended Eureka Church of Christ. He graduated from Bridgeport High School, served in the U.S. Army, was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and was a member of Richland County Senior Citizens and Claremont Recreational Center.

Mr. Stoltz is survived by his wife, Marlene Stoltz of Claremont; daughter Sarah Teeven, of Olney; son, Benny Stoltz, of Iowa; son, Frank Stoltz, of Florida; son, Larry Stoltz and his wife, Sheila, of Rockville, IN; daughter, Lisa Ruesch, of Claremont; daughter, Patty Corcoran and her husband, Patrick, of Olney; grandchildren, Anthony Teeven, Daniel and Christopher Stoltz, Rachel, Philip and Sarah Ruesch, Tyler and Caitlyn Stoltz, Jennifer, Amy, Samatha, and Leslie Cummins; brother, Bud Stoltz and his wife, Shelby, of Olney; sister Margaret Mitchell and her husband, Loren, of Olney; sister Esther Moore, of Evansville, IN; sister Belinda Pottorff and her husband, Don, of Kansas City, MO; sister Ada Parrot, of Lawrenceville; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stoltz, of Sumner, and Melvia Stoltz, of Claremont; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene and Harold Stoltz; son, Samuel Stoltz; and brother-in-law, Robert Moore.

Memorials may be made to Richland County Senior Citizens, Claremont Recreation Center, or Operation Home Front.
