Beryl Cartwright (nee Bowdler), 71, died April 13, 2006 following a brief illness.

A native of South Wales, she immigrated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1962. She was a Registered Dietician at Fleet Landing Naval Retirement Community/Nursing Facility until her retirement in 2000.

Mrs. Cartwright was an active member of the British-American Club of Jacksonville and a member of Senior Friends of Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville. She attended St. Johns Cathedral.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ernest Howard Cartwright, and her parents, Reginald Bowdler and Gweneth Morgan-Bowdler.

A memorial service was held in April at St. Johns Cathedral. At her request, her cremated remains were taken back to her homeland of South Wales by her children.

Mrs. Cartwright is survived by her children, Robert James Evans of Plymouth, England, Sandra Ann Barnes (Nigel) of Jacksonville, Florida and Michelle Andrea Conner (Dwayne) of Hilliard, Florida; six grandchildren, Allen Kaleel, Victoria Green, Robert Evans, Tiffany & Anthony Conner and Gareth Barnes; six brothers and sisters, Brownen Cullinane (Derek) of Brynmawr, South Wales, Keith Bowdler (Freda) of New South Wales, Austraila, Marilyn, Reginald Bowdler of Abertilary, South Wales, Ann Maidment (Errol) of Brynmawr, South Wales and Maldwyn Bowdler of West Wales; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Please send all flowers to the Cartwright family and any donations can be given to either medical research or the American Lung Association in memory of Beryl Cartwright.
