Funeral services are being held at the Baptist church in Trent at 2 o'clock 90 afternoon for Mrs. Myra Gouchnour, who passed away at the Fairview home in Flandreau Sunday, June 28, where she had been an invalid the past seven years.
Myra Melissa Bathrick was born at Rushford, Minnesota, in 1874, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Bathrick. She was one of a family of eight. Her early childhood was spent at Rushford were she was an active member of the Episcopal Church. As a young woman she spent much of her time in Dell Rapids with her sister, Mrs. J.M. Griswold.
She was married on November 24, 1903 to Guy Gochnour of Trent, South Dakota. To this union was born five children, Marion, Beulah, Hope, Bernice and Merland.
The family made their home in the Trent vicinity for a number of years, later moving to Donna, Texas. Mr. Gouchnour passed away in 1920. Following his death the family moved to Dell Rapids where they resided for several years.
Surviving are for children, Mrs. Kenneth Jones, of Egan; Mrs. Donald Henderson, Duluth, Minnesota; Mrs. R.D. Stafford, Mercedes, Texas; Merland of Detroit, Michigan. There are also nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. James Peterson of Madison, South Dakota.
