AJ was born in Albuquerque on October 11, 1988, and was a graduate of Alamosa High School, class of 2007.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe M. Sanchez and Louella Sanchez King, as well as an uncle, Brian Joseph Sanchez. AJ is survived by his mother, Laura Garcia Gabaldon of Alamosa, Colo.; father, Abelino Gabaldon and his wife, Lisa, of Henderson, Nev.; brothers, Sean Reich of Alamosa, Colo., and Lucas Lawrence of Henderson, Nev.; sisters, Kassandra Gabaldon of Los Lunas, Lauryn Lawrence of Henderson, Nev., and Chantelle Gallegos of Bosque Farms; grandparents, Gene and Mary Stella Gabaldon of Los Lunas; and an uncle, Roberto Gabaldon and his children, Blaine, Alyssa and Jacob of Los Lunas and a niece, Brianna Jo Sanchez of Belen. Also surviving are a nephew, Mark Gene Gabaldon, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
All services for AJ will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé on Saturday, July 3, beginning with a Rosary at 9 a.m., with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Tomé Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the home of Sarah Casias, 3053 N.M. 47, Tomé.
