Jennifer Jean Webster, 31, Ponca City, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Ponca City.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church. Dr. B. Gordon Edwards and Rev. Trudy Morphew will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Family will greet friends at the the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Webster was born Aug. 16, 1970, in Lansing, Mich., to James and Arletta (Visser) Webster.

She moved to Stillwater with her family in 1981. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1988.

While in high school, she participated in the orchestra and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was an honor graduate of Stillwater High School.

After high school, she attended College of Wooster in Ohio and the University of Kentucky.

She returned to Stillwater in 1990 and worked at Oklahoma State University in food services for residential life.

During 1995 and 1996, she lived in Tucson, Ariz. In 1997, Webster moved to Ponca City, where she has since lived.

In Ponca City, she participated in the Edwin Fair Mental Health Program.

She enjoyed volunteer work at McCord Elementary School and Shawn Manor Nursing Home.

She also did volunteer work at the First Presbyterian Church in Ponca City and most recently at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ponca City.

She recently participated in the American Cancer Society Walk-A-Thon. Webster enjoyed ceramics, her cat, Cocoa and her music.

She was a compassionate person and will be missed by her family and friends. She thought of others sending them cards and giving words of encouragement to those she cared about.

Webster is survived by her parents; one brother, Staff Sgt. Bradley J. Webster, Wichita, Kan. and currently on active duty in Germany; paternal grandparents, G.T. and Marion Webster, Lexington, Ken.; and maternal grandparents, George and Lorene Visser, Riley, Kan.

Memorials may be made to the Edwin Fair Ponca City Transitional Living Center, 1500 N. Sixth Street, Ponca City, 74061 or the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, 500 N. Broadway Suite 100, Oklahoma City, 73102.
